Speaker

Engaging author visits that give students the confidence to share their own stories.

As a former middle school Language Arts teacher, published author, and creative writing instructor, I've spent my career helping students discover the power of stories. Through interactive presentations, behind-the-scenes publishing insights, and engaging writing activities, I help students discover the confidence to share their own ideas with the world. Whether I'm visiting an elementary classroom or speaking to aspiring young writers, my goal is always the same—to inspire students to believe their ideas matter and give them practical tools to bring those ideas to life.

Presentation topics may include…

  • How a Book Is Born
  • Behind the Scenes of Publishing
  • Creating Characters Readers Remember
  • Finding Confidence as a Writer
  • Where Story Ideas Come From

Teacher Testimonials

“I had the pleasure of welcoming Crystal Joy into my second-grade classroom, and it was a wonderful experience. She shared the writing process in an engaging, age-appropriate way that inspired my students and sparked excitement for reading and writing. The visit encouraged creativity, built confidence, and left a lasting impression on my class. I highly recommend Crystal Joy to any school looking to inspire young readers and writers.”

— Riley Buschle, second-grade teacher at Corkscrew Elementary

“My second-grade students absolutely loved listening to Crystal Joy share the writing and editing process, and it gave them a chance to get inside of an author's head and think about what it might be like to be an author! She was extremely engaging and connected very well with all of the students. I think she may have inspired some of them to dream about becoming an author one day!”

— Ms. Sodeika, second-grade teacher at Corkscrew Elementary
